My Final Video

This is currently my final video. I am pleased with the outcome but I think there are a few things that could be improved. At this moment in time I am saying this is my final video because as it is complete, I have to focus on other important parts like the evaluation and finishing off the inside of the album cover.

This video was harder than I thought it would be and in my opinion, I could of planned it out a bit better but I still think its a pretty good result. I chose to use the actions and editing techniques like I did because I wanted them to be conventional and I thought they fitted in with the genre and made the audience feel how Whitney Houston was portraying. A few bad points about doing this video was that I wasnt very experienced in filming so in places its not as good as it could be.

The following post will analyse my video and you can then see the reason behind my decisions.

Feedback From Second Video

I presented my video to many of my peers. They sat around my computer as I played it. I asked for a quick one minute talk about the good and bad points of my video.

The main piece of feedback I recieved was that the timings were not all correct but over all the video was good.

From this, I plan to hopefully get my timings right and post my final video.

Inside of Album Cover 3

After looking at the previous one, I thought the writing would look better being lighter. I tried it with a pink outline but my friend said its not as good so I kept with grey. In my opinion it is a lot better and I do prefer it to the others.

My Video

As I am currently finishing creating the inside of covers, I also finished the video. This is the second draft I created and hopefully I could use this as my final. I will ask my peers in my class if it is any better and soon finish off creating all the parts of the digi pack.

Inside of Album Cover 2

This is another inside cover I have created. I like this one more but I think the previous one fits in with the genre more.

Peer Feedback From Draft Video

In the process of creating inside of album covers, I gathered some feedback from my video. I did this by showing it to a group of friends and getting them to anonymously write something good and bad about the video.

I have summed up the results and they are listed below:

Good points
1. the actions are good, relate to the video
2. the tempo made the audience feel the sadness

Bad points
1. there is a part of the video where the actress is wearing a skirt and in the next shot she isnt, so that needs rectifying.
2. you can see points where one of the actresses is not being serious enough

They are the main points of my video feedback. So now as I will be working on the album, I will also video the extra parts needed and also re-film parts that need improving.

Inside of Album Cover

This is the inside of the album cover. I kept it plain and simple because I think having too much in the cover will give the wrong impression.

Change To Album Cover

This was the cover that I preferred but from peer feedback, I got told it was a bit blank. I did not want to change it a lot so I thought a pattern on the side would help. This is the result.

New Poster 2

Here is another poster that I created. I have not used it from a previous poster and amended it, I have simply just thought of a new idea. I have kept this picture in colour compared to my other posters, this is because I think it stands out more and the expression on the face still expresses what the album is like.

Improved Poster 1

This poster was orignally my favourite but after weeks of receiving peer feedback of my products I found that by making a few changes it makes a big difference. This is my improved poster and in my opinion it is even better. It looks more like a poster that is to create attraction to my audience. You can now tell that it is a newly released album and also the date makes it more realistic.

Up Date

As you can see I have not updated my blog in a few weeks. This is because I entered my first draft and had it commented on. I have taken the feed back into great consideation and I am now altering the appropriate things I need to.

My plan now is to:

*film the rest of the video
*film parts that need refilming
*take a more variation of pictures
*hopefully produce more mock ups of inside covers for the album and different layouts of the posters, although I have a favourite I would like to use but I want to see if I can take my creation to the next level

I hope to have this completed within the first week of February. Because of the weather conditions I have been limited to what I can do, in terms of filming my outdoor scenes. I can take more pictures indoor but I preferably want to experiment with some outdoor pictures as well.
